This week’s issue of Time Out NY is all about outdoor bar spaces and one spread is dedicated to dog-friendly spaces. Whatever these bars are doing to avoid Health Dept violations I hope they keep it up. A dog-friendly bar is sometimes the only way I can see my friends without feeling guilty about leaving the puppers at home.
Highlighted are two places nearby: Great Bar Harry on Smith Street and that pretty Brooklyn Botanica in Red Hook (but only when the kitchen is closed). Steve and I have partied down in GBH before but didn’t know I could bring him along to Brooklyn Botanica. Classy.
