1880 Historic Tombstone
70 miles from Tucson
Tombstone,
Arizona
800-457-3423

This historic Western town is one of the most famous and glamorized mining towns in America. Prospector Ed Schieffelin was told he would only find his tombstone in the San Pedro Valley. He named his first silver claim Tombstone, and it later became the name of the town. The town is situated on a mesa at an elevation of 4,540 feet. While the area became notorious for saloons, gambling houses and the O.K. Corral shootout, in the 1880s Tombstone had become the most cultivated city in the West. Surviving the Great Depression and relocation of the County Seat to Bisbee, in the 1930s Tombstone became known as “The Town Too Tough To Die.” You an your leashed dog are welcome to take a step back in time and walk along the wooden sidewalks and dirt streets. Here is a side note about the town: dogs are not allowed inside the O.K. Corral shoot-out area. This historic town is a must visit when you go to Arizona!

Below is a list of eight inspiring activities that you and your pet can do together to positively impact your community.

Picture this: You’re sitting on a white sand beach, warm sun on your skin. Coconut-scented sunscreen wafts through the air. A splashing noise comes from the blue Gulf of Mexico. It’s your dog, happily retrieving his favorite ball from the water.

pet-friendly restaurants « DogFriendly.com"s Dog News

Good news for Arlington dog owners: the city’s health department now lets restaurants apply for a variance to allow dogs in outdoor dining areas.

This comes just months after the public health department reminded restaurants that non-service animals weren’t allowed in any dining areas, ARLnow points out. At the time, Arlington County Department of Human Services spokesman Kurt Larrick said that “[t]he presence of animals would create a risk of people getting sick due to fecal contamination.”

The policy reversal comes as D.C. gears up for warmer weather and outdoor dining season. For more on the story click here.
